Teacher Platform hero
Summary

An operational environment where teachers manage classes, students, and teaching tools in one place.

Executive summary

Problem

Centralize the workflows teachers use before, during, and after classes without making operations more complex or relying on several disconnected tools.

Solution

I built an internal platform with class and student management, scheduling, a whiteboard, and Guru Start, a Gemini-powered chat available to support teachers during online classes.

First-person notes on product decisions, execution, and lessons from this project.

Teacher Platform is Goodstart’s internal environment for centralizing teachers’ routines and the tools needed to conduct classes.

What was built

The platform brings together resources used before, during, and after classes:

  • class and student management;
  • teacher schedules;
  • information needed to prepare for and follow each session;
  • a whiteboard for use during class;
  • editing and material-creation tools;
  • an installable PWA experience;
  • Guru Start, an AI chat that supports teachers during online classes.

Role in the project

I structured and implemented the platform as an internal product, connecting real pedagogical needs to clearer digital workflows. The work covered information architecture, interface design, data integration, classroom tools, and decisions about how to offer AI assistance without interrupting the interaction between teacher and student.

Product and technology decisions

The platform uses Astro 5 and React 19 for the interface, Supabase for data and backend services, Cloudflare for infrastructure, and TipTap for editing experiences. Its PWA configuration makes recurring access easier for teachers.

Gemini 3.0 is also part of the product through Guru Start. During an online class, a teacher can consult the chat for support without leaving the main working environment.

Result

Teacher Platform is active in production and used exclusively within Goodstart language school. It demonstrates how an internal tool can bring operations, teaching experience, and applied AI together in a product built for real users and needs.

AI-assisted development

Gemini 3.0 (initial phase)

Gemini 3.0 was the primary agent during the initial phase and supported the applicable stages of conception, architecture, UX, implementation, and debugging. External service configuration was handled manually.
