platform

Detalhe de Festa

The project explored how operations software and generative AI could help a rental business manage its catalog and show customers how products might look at their venue.

A prototype platform for managing party-rental inventory and orders, with AI-generated venue visualizations.

Summary

An inventory, rental, and order system with decoration previews generated using Nano Banana.

Executive summary

Problem

Replace an existing platform without losing its product catalog while creating a more useful experience for both operations and customers.

Solution

I prototyped a Next.js platform with inventory, orders, and a flow where customers would select products, upload a venue photo, and receive a visual composition generated by Nano Banana.

First-person notes on product decisions, execution, and lessons from this project.

Detalhe de Festa was a project I started to help my sister-in-law, who owns a party-item rental business.

The product idea

The platform was intended to manage the inventory of available party items, organize orders, and improve the way customers planned their decorations. Beyond the operational layer, the concept included a generative AI experience: users would choose the products they wanted to rent, upload a photo of the venue, and Nano Banana would create an image combining the selected items with that environment.

This visualization would help customers understand the composition before renting and give the business a more visual way to present its catalog.

Product and technology decisions

The prototype was started with Next.js and Vercel. The experience combined traditional software flows — catalog, inventory, and orders — with a generative feature powered by Nano Banana.

The main challenge was not only building the new interface but migrating products already stored on another platform. When that migration proved impractical, we decided not to continue development.

Result

The project was discontinued before reaching production. Even so, it was a valuable experience in thinking through data migration, inventory systems, order operations, and concrete ways to apply image generation to a small business.
